Orisha oko patakies:

After Olokun invaded everything with his waters, the inhabitants of the planet had no choice but to take refuge in the highest mountain.

Many were the attempts to get Olofin's attention to solve that difficult situation. The men devised to make a great tower that would reach the sky, but the masons from so much working isolated ended up speaking a language that the others could not understand, the same thing happened to the carpenters and so on to each group of workers.

In this way different languages arose and it became so difficult to continue that little by little they abandoned the construction of the building.

A farmer named Oko had a better idea. With his farm tools he made seven huge furrows in the mountain and planted each one with plants of a different color.

One morning when Olofin looked towards the Earth, he saw the drawing that Oko had made. He liked it so much that he immediately ordered a bridge to be made with seven colors equal to those on the mountain so that the author of that wonder could go up to his palace.

When Oko told him what had happened, Olofin outraged ordered Yemayá to chain Olokun at the bottom of the sea.

Oko returned to Earth, which now had more space to farm, because the sea waters had receded. To the extent that men learned of his feat they began to call him Orisha oko.

Olofin decided that Oshumare, the rainbow, would come down to Earth from time to time as a memory of that event.
